We have booked the John Carver Inn & Spa in Plymouth Center for Tuesday-Wednesday 26-27 September, 2017. Our Hospitality Room will be open during the afternoon and evening of Tuesday and Wednesday, and the main ballroom will host a sit-down dinner on Wednesday evening -  a schedule of events like our 50th reunion. As we have these facilities under contract, please feel free to let everyone you know who may have an interest in attending, the location, times, and dates. Our venue selection team discussed in detail whether to have the event during the week or over the weekend. We concluded that the majority, but certainly not all, of our classmates are likely retired and the weekday option would not negatively impact attendance plus the cost of a weekday event was significantly less expensive.
We were unable to get a block of rooms as we did for our 50th. At the time that we were in discussions with the hotel, they only had a few rooms available during the period 26-27 September. It’s a nice hotel just slightly smaller than the Radisson we had last time. Tour companies book large blocks of rooms a year out and depending on their sales, they return unbooked rooms to the hotel a month or so out so the hotel can rebook them. I would suggest checking Bookings.com. or other hotel booking site, and see if you can get a room at the John Carver or one of the 20 or so hotels in Plymouth. Then as our reunion approaches, check the John Carver again to see if they have rooms. Admittedly, not as convenient as the 50th, but it was the best we could do and still have our reunion in September which, as you know, is the best weather month in Plymouth – normally.
