A great 4 years at Hobart, then a miserable 1+ years as assistant to the superintendent of welding at Fore River shipyard; started a Masters in economics at Northeastern, married my college sweetheart and immediately quit Fore River job; finished Masters then two years of teaching at an upstate NY community college; started doctoral work at SUNY Albany, then 2 years working for Illinois state gov’t; 3 years in DC at the Brookings Institution to finish dissertation and participate in a variety of research projects; then 26 years on faculty of the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at Ohio State University; retired and splitting time between rural Ohio and Cape Town, South Africa.
I am most grateful for a rewarding career, a wife who makes me happy and proud, and 2 kids with successful professional and personal lives. |

I graduated in chemical engineering from the UMass, Amherst after high school where I met my wife, Jan. Got married and we headed to the University of California, Berkeley in the late 60's. Worked as an engineer, and decided to go to Temple Dental School. I then went into the Air Force and was stationed at Travis AFB, CA. Then moved the growing family and started my dental practice in Shrewsbury, MA, I now have my oldest son as my partner. My wife and my daughter also work in the practice. I also enjoy investing in the stock market, as well as vacationing in the Caribbean, and we spend our summers at our lake house.
My children and their accomplishments, and my grandchildren.
I look forward to a second career in investing, administrating Bryan Family Foundation, and traveling in the Caribbean. I chose a picture of my wife and I sailing in October last year one of our favorite past times, and my grandchildren.
